چکیده

A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of autonomous mobile nodes that communicate with each other over wireless links. Such networks are expected to play increasingly important role in future civilian and military settings, being useful for providing communication support where no fixed infrastructure exists or the deployment of a fixed infrastructure is not economically profitable and movement of communicating parties is possible. However, since there is no stationary infrastructure such as base stations, mobile hosts need to operate as routers in order to maintain the information about the network connectivity. Therefore, in recent years, a variety of routing protocols have been proposed and several of these have been already extensively simulated or implemented as well. This paper evaluates performance of two routing protocols, Ad hoc On-demand Multi-path Distance Vector (AOMDV) and Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) routing protocols. We perform the analysis on two different performance metrics Average delay and Packet Delivery Ratio using Load Model and Flow Model. Simulation is carried out using Ns-2.34.

Comparative Performance Analysis of AODV,DSR, TORA and OLSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using OPNET

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....

Comparative Study of AODV, DSDV and DSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using Network Simulator-2

Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically form a network temporarily without any support of central management. Moreover, Every node in MANET moves arbitrarily making the multi-hop network topology to change randomly at uncertain times. There are several familiar routing protocols like AODV,DSR,DSDV etc... which have been proposed for providing comm...

Behavioral Study of MANET Routing Protocols by using NS-2

A Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) consists of a number of mobile wireless nodes, among which the communication is carried out without having any centralized control. MANET is a self organized, self configurable network having no infrastructure, and in which the mobile nodes move arbitrarily. The mobile nodes can receive and relay packets as a router. Routing is a critical issue and an efficient r...

Simulation Based Study of Routing Protocols in MANET Using Different Scenarios and Traffic Pattern

Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is an autonomous system of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. Each node operates not only as an end system, but also as a router to forward packets. The nodes are free to move about and organize themselves into a network. These nodes change position frequently. An important and essential issue for mobile ad hoc networks is routing protocol design that is a m...

Performance Evaluation of MANET Routing Protocols Under Different Mobility Models

In the last several years the MANET routing protocols and mobility model combinations have been studied widely. These studies have used different MANET parameters for performance evaluation due to which the uniformity for the sake of comparison among the research works has been missing. This work provides a comprehensive study using wide range of MANET parameters, and draws conclusions for the ...
